Qualifications
- Current licensure in good standing in the state of practice.
- Evidence of 2 years of perioperative circulating nursing experience within recent years; scrub experience preferred.
- CPR certification.
- Able to perform the capabilities of the job listed in the back of this Section.
- Meet minimum proficiency on Skills Checklist.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team for the patients under his/her care.
- Administering, supervising and coordinating the nursing process in the provision of care; and strive to maintain and improve patient outcomes.
- Work within the parameters of the state Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilize other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.
- Recognize and value the unique contribution of each team member.
- Develop and maintain effective nurse/patient/family relationships.
- Collaborate with co-workers, physicians and members of the interdisciplinary health care team effectively.
- Adapt to changing to department needs.
