Qualifications

  • Current licensure in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Evidence of 2 years of perioperative circulating nursing experience within recent years; scrub experience preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • Able to perform the capabilities of the job listed in the back of this Section.
  • Meet minimum proficiency on Skills Checklist.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team for the patients under his/her care.
  • Administering, supervising and coordinating the nursing process in the provision of care; and strive to maintain and improve patient outcomes.
  • Work within the parameters of the state Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilize other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.
  • Recognize and value the unique contribution of each team member.
  • Develop and maintain effective nurse/patient/family relationships.
  • Collaborate with co-workers, physicians and members of the interdisciplinary health care team effectively.
  • Adapt to changing to department needs.
